About

Sudarshana Mukhopadhyay is a Postdoctoral Employee with Morgan C Levy at Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego.

She worked as a Postdoctoral Associate at Steinschneider Research Group at Cornell University. She earned her Ph.D. in Spring 2020 from the Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at NCSU. She also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant in the Climate, Hydrology, and Water Resources: Modeling and Synthesis Group with Dr. Sankar Arumugam.

Sudarshana is a hydrologist interested in developing climate-informed statistical methods to advance a fundamental understanding of the climate-water-energy nexus. Her primary research area is statistical hydrology, emphasizing stochastic hydrological modeling that aims to efficiently use climate information in water resources management. She is interested in river-basin scale multi-reservoir modeling using probabilistic hydroclimatological forecasts and identifying the drivers of hydroclimatic variability across different spatial and temporal scales.
